Paper-cut

There’s been a small

Paper-cut on my fore-

Finger since yesterday,

Which just reminds

Me, indistinctly, that

I have a nervous system

Working all the time,

That, in short, this

Living thing — me —

Can suffer and be

Suffered, not just bleed

But sting.
