  1. The more someone speaks in the jargon, the less they have to say.
  2. The primaries: porn for the liberal meritocracy.
  3. One of the upsides of the competitive arts culture in New York is seeing people who claim they can do your job better than you fall on their face.
  4. General cultural trend: unwillingness/inability to sustain a debate with beliefs suspended coupled with increasingly greater willingness to rely on ad hominem and shallow constructs.
  5. Media logic: Bernie is up, time to pump Bloomberg; Bloomberg is down, time to claim the Democratic Primary is in chaos, uncertain.
  6. Fools think in terms of facts; academics think in terms of citations; philosophers think in terms of reason; erudites think in terms of history.
  7. The bad politics of impeachment: Trump (predictably) comes away empowered. Why? Because of the infuriating liberal impulse to engage in moral battle, even if it means losing the political war. Republicans conduct realpolitik, while Democrats look for reasons to feel good about themselves — the politics of masturbation.
