  1. So much of what you used to do, your phone now does for you, including think.
  2. Apps which claim to save you time, use all your time, and often, your money.
  3. Your phone has done something very mean to you: it has made you dependent.
  4. Podcasts have replaced books because you no longer know how to read.
  5. You are a fake expert that proscribes fake solutions to fake problems: that is your career.
  6. Our attention is colonized and mined. The new new world is the human mind itself.
  7. We seek repetitive relief from the needs which are carefully engineered by corporations. That is life now. No wonder people are bored.
  8. Depression is the new name for existential discomfort and pain. Anguish — a concept full of religious feeling — is now a chemical imbalance: a mysterious illness that only pharmaceutical companies know how to cure.
  9. We spend 1/3 of our lives being trained for the misery of the final 2/3's.
  10. Give up the illusion that purchasing stuff can make you happy, and you can say that your life has finally begun.
